Judge Judy has launched a new web series What Would Judy Say that encourages fans to ask discuss everyday social issues.
Several times a month the former family court judge—who became a household name after 16 seasons of the daytime reality court show Judge Judy—will introduce new topics addressing issues that affect everyday life ranging from romance and pre-nups to sock money and stepchildren.
“This place is designed to have some fun, and share ideas about life,” said Judge Judy. “My kids tell me that raising a family and negotiating life is more challenging today than it was, say, a generation ago. I recall saying the same thing to my mother.”
In her first episode, “Roommates with Benefits“, Judge Judy advises unmarried couples living together to follow one simple rule: “joint nothing; separate everything!”
Future topics include “Pre-Nup or No Nup?,” “Do You Have a Sock Money Marriage?,” and “Growing the Nest.”
Fans are encouraged to submit their stories and experiences to be considered for inclusion on a new series of short books that, according to the site, would “offer up a life lesson or a little advice that can last a lifetime.”
“You never know,” Judge Judy says in her intro video, “maybe a shared experience will guide a stranger or help a friend.”
