Jon Hamm has showed us he can bowl. The star of Mad Men appeared on Chris Hardwick’s All-Star Celebrity Bowling late last month (which recently debuted on the Nerdist’s YouTube Originals Channel), along with fellow cast members and the creator of the popular AMC original series. That team squared off against Team Nerdist, which was comprised of both usual and unusual suspects, including Hardwick, Nerdist podcaster Jonah Ray, You Made it Weird podcaster Pete Holmes, and Weird Al. Hamm, as one would expect, was very good.
But that’s not all Hamm’s good at. The 41-year-old from St. Louis can kinda sorta freestyle and knows a lot about the late 70’s and early 80’s American sitcom Taxi.
Hamm spit some seemingly improvised lyrics about Tony Danza, Danny DeVito, Andy Kaufman, and others who who were employed by and/or hung around the Sunshine Cab Company
on top of a beat made by Brooklyn-based musician and comedian Reggie Watts and some of his sophisticated recording devices for IFC’s weekly web series Reggie Makes Music. The program is an online offshoot to Comedy Bang! Bang!, a “variety show featuring celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and animation” hosted by Scott Aukerman (who’s also the co-Creator/Director/Product of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis) and derived from his popular podcast of the same name. Some of the guest who appear on the IFC show (like Hamm, Amy Poehler, Galifianakis, Adam Scott, Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, and more) will be obliged to sing with Watts, Comedy Bang! Bang!’s one-man-hip-hop band.
Tune into IFC weekly to see Watts and familiar faces from comedy make beautiful music together.
