President Obama Answers Your Questions Live on YouTube

The White House is totally comfortable with doing it live. Last week the powers that be in the presidential administration offered an “enhanced livestream” of Obama’s fourth State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. Viewers who tuned into the speech by way of  WhiteHouse.gov, the White House’s Facebook page, the White House’s YouTube channel, or the White House’s iPhone application were shown charts, stats, and data that helped inform President Obama’s policy decisions as he delivered his speech to the nation” in addition to the regular footage of smiles and standing ovations from Democrats and the mildly annoyed faces and seated bodies of Republicans.

Today, the White House is serving up another livestream of President Obama. This time it comes courtesy of a live Google+ Hangout and the contributions of a few hundred thousand participants.

The White House and YouTube have been soliciting questions (and votes on those questions) to ask President Obama from politically-inclined individuals for the past week. They received over 225,000 submissions. A select few of those submissions will be answered and/or addressed by President Obama during today’s live interview “and several participants with top-voted questions will be selected to join the President in the Google+ Hangout to take part in the conversation.”
