Lexus and MSN Recruit Artists for ‘Fresh Perspectives’

Lexus has teamed up with MSN to present an interesting project in which six artists are given 24 hours to create an original piece based on a choice of three themes. The process is documented in the original web series Fresh Perspectives, which pulls together 45 different videos including artists bios and time-lapsed photography of the works in progress.

Fresh Perspectives premiered on April 18 with the first theme “Escape,” featuring photographer Tod Seelie, painter-collagist Augustine Kofie, chef Craig Thornton, and clothing designer Robert James. The series promotes Lexus’ newest hybrid, the CT 200h, and each video features the new car in some way.

The second theme “Challenge” features Seelie, James, paper sculptor Jeff Nishinaka, and singer-songwriter V.

The series are directed by New York-based creative duo the Sniper Twins incollaboration with Microsoft’s Branded Entertainment and Experiences Team and BRW USA.

The next theme, “Empower,” is yet to be released.

Last year Lexus created an original series Parts Art in which artists deconstruct a Lexus and use the parts to create an original work. In addition to L Studio, a destination site for original content (and home of Lisa Kudrow’s Streamy Award winning series Web Therapy), Lexus has created Darkcasting, a late night talk show hosted by Whitney Cummings that takes place inside of a Lexus CT 200h.
