Waverly Films Wins YouTube's Sketchies 2

Even before you watched all the vids from the 10 finalists, you kinda already knew who’d win. It’s not that the other competitors aren’t talented (they are), or that they didn’t have a chance (they did), it’s more a testament to the crazy good creative sensibilities and production capabilities of Waverly Films.

The modesty of their About Us page belies their experience. “Filmmakers who live in Brooklyn” comprise Waverly’s crew, but that bio doesn’t hint at a client list including Comedy Central, FatBoy Slim, MTV, Sprite, Sony, and the New York Times (watch that one to induce old school Nintendo nostalgia). These guys know what they’re doing.

I thought POYKPAC’s tribute to Jack and Those Aren’t Muskets’ Bourne Ultimatum spoof each had a shot, but nothing could top the adolescent, robomystery gone awry, Sherlockbot & The Case of the Purloined Piggybank:

Waverly already gave a big Thank to the YouTube community and takes home $25K in cash, $15K in production gear, a meet and great with United Talent Agency, and the indubitable privilege of producing next year’s Sketchies III informational and how-to videos
