Here Comes the Bride-O-Rama

You know that annoying girl who won’t shut up about how amazing her wedding was?  Ever wish you could video tape her mindless monologue to enjoy at your convenience?  It’s your special day.

Next New Networks announced the launch of its newest mico-channel, Bride-O-Rama, a show dedicated to a bride’s recollection of her special day, including tips for brides-to-be.  Seriously?

Indeed, a creative way to repurpose that expensive wedding video (I wonder if there are any licensing issues), but will it really attract a niche?  The show seems to appeal directly to soon-to-be brides, as opposed to Party/Party

on Bravo or My Super Sweet 16 on MTV, both of which chronicled the drama and absurdity leading up to a big special day.  Bride-O-Rama doesn’t feature outrageous or glamorous or even particularly interesting weddings; it’s literally just the story of a wedding, from one bride to another.

Websites like The Wedding Channel and Brides.com feature extensive advice sections, and TheKnot.com even has a TV show, but these tend to be impersonal and overlook the little things like a “Bridal Survival Kit” that can make all the difference on that important day.  Brides-to-be want to connect, share and explore ideas, and what better way than through the power of the internet?  Maybe NNN has just hit an untapped micro-market.

Bride-O-Rama hasn’t overlooked the importance of wedding expertise: “every Thursday we are also bringing you exclusive tips from the titans of wedding planning!”

Check it  out…and pass it on to that nervous girl vacillating between light-pink peonies and baby-pink ranunculus.
