Broadband Emmy Nominees

Last year, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences made a large leap in the new media direction by announcing four categories for Broadband Emmy Awards. This year, they’re back with a partnership with MySpace and a live webcast of the winners being announced at the Daytime Creative Arts & Entertainment Emmy Awards on June 14.

“The nominees represent a cross section of broadband programs, created by both industry leaders and consumers, with the common denominator being quality. The creativity and production values of these programs are exceptional,” said Peter Price, President and CEO of the organization.

“In fact, this year we had more entries in each of the broadband program categories than any other program category, and the user-generated programs nominated represent nearly 50% of the total nominees. Clearly, we have moved toward television anytime, anywhere, by anyone.” Wow, what a velvet-tongued plea of desperation for people to care about the Emmy’s again.

Either way, the Emmy’s are still a big deal. I’m sure it would be pretty astounding to say that your website won an Emmy, at least. I’m pulling for It’s JerryTime! to win. Though that’s an uphill battle, since they’re up against the united force of Showtime, Proctor & Gamble, Discovery, and those wonderful people who brought you an endless parade of videos involving diet soda and breath mints. So check out the list of nominees after the jump.

Go ahead, you can jump now.
