Candace ‘Chewbacca Mom’ Payne got her viral break on Facebook Live with a broadcast in which she tried on a toy mask and promptly dissolved into a fit of contagious giggles. The clip went on to become the most-viewed Live video in Facebook’s history (162 million views), and has landed Payne her next big break — a partnership with TLC.
Payne will create two vlog series for the network’s digital hub TLCme, according to a press release: 2 Truths & A Lie With Candace and Sing-A-Long With Candace. In the former, Payne will tell three elaborate stories, and reveal which are true and which are false in a Facebook Live session the following day. In the latter, she will perform an original song with lyrics crowdsourced by fans via social media. The partnership kicks off on Monday, and you can check out an introductory clip below:

“Since posting my video on Facebook, life has been pretty crazy,” Payne said in a statement. “I’ve had a lot of really awesome experiences, and now I’m adding to that list by joining the TLC family.”
Added TLC’s SVP of multiplatform programming and digital media, Scott Lewers: “[Candace’s] fun personality and endless creativity is exactly what the brand is all about. We hope that by teaming up to create original content, we’re able to share Candace’s infectious energy, encourage conversation, and be a bright spot in people’s news feeds.”
In addition to appearances on Good Morning America and The Late Late Show With James Corden, Payne had a second surge of viral notoriety when she sang a cover of Michael Jackson’s Heal The World in the wake of the shootings of five police officers in Dallas this July. She later made an official recording of the song, which subsequently charted in the top 30 on iTunes within hours of its release.
