Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels • Week Of 1/9/15

DisneyCollectorBR is in first place on the U.S. charts for the 16th week in a row. The YouTube catalog of videos of adults playing with children’s toys saw a significant 21% week-over-week uptick in views to end the seven-day stretch with nearly 112.9 million of them. That’s an incredible view count and put the channel for tots about 35 million views ahead of its next closest competitor.

Taylor Swift is in the second place spot with a modest 8% increase in views. The pop star’s online video catalog received more than 78.8 million plays on the week. PopularMMOs is next up in third place. The U.S.-based gamer saw a 25% bump in views and scored more than 64.2 million views during the week.

BluCollection jumped up one position to fourth place this week. The second channel towards the top of the charts with videos all about adults playing with children’s toys ended the week with almost 56.5 million views. And rounding out the Top 5 is DisneyCarToys. The third channel towards the top of the charts with videos all about adults playing with children’s toys amassed nearly 52.2 million views in the week.

Top Gainers

The honor of one of our Top Gainers in the U.S. this week goes to Marvel.

The YouTube home of the Disney-owned comic book imprint just released a teaser trailer, giving audiences their first full look at the upcoming superhero flick Ant-Man. The one-minute-and-56-second preview features Paul Rudd and a sampling of his uncanny abilities as the tiny hero and it easily racked up a seven-figure view count. The teaser helped to give Marvel’s channel a 514% week-over-week increase in views, more than 18.5 million views on the week, and the #46 spot on the U.S. chart.

The top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 1,639,494,027 views. Here’s the distribution of a few of those channels by multi-channel network:

• VEVO: 19 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Taylor Swift topping out at #2.
• Maker Studios: 7 channels in the Top 50, with DisneyCarToys at #5.
• BuzzFeed, DEFY Media, Fullscreen: 2 channels the Top 50, with BuzzFeed’s BuzzFeed Video at #6, DEFY’s Smosh at #38, andFullscreen’s PopularMMOs at #3.
