For the third year in a row, Saban Community Clinic–the largest provider of free and reduced-cost healthcare in Los Angeles–is hosting its Creators in Action cocktail gala, which brings together creators and industry execs from LA’s digital media industry to support its cause.
At each Creators in Action event, the clinic selects creators and execs to honor. For the inaugural 2023 gala, it gave nods to Rhett & Link and creator attorney Adam Kaller. In 2024, it recognized Jay Shetty and Pinterest Chief Content Officer Malik Ducard.
This year? Valkyrae and pocket.watch founder/CEO Chris M. Williams are in the spotlight.

“This year’s honorees exemplify innovation, inclusion, and influence across entertainment, gaming, and digital media,” Saban Community Clinic said in a press release.
Valkyrae, as you probably know, is one of the most well-known female streamers in the world. She has over 13 million followers, co-owns esports org 100 Thieves, was named “Gaming Creator of the Year” by Adweek, has won at our Streamy Awards, the Game Awards, and the Streamer Awards, and recently launched her own animation company, Hihi Studios.
Williams, meanwhile, was Chief Audience Officer at Maker Studios; when that company was acquired by Disney in 2014, he joined the Mouse House to help it launch online originals. In 2017, he founded pocket.watch, the kids/family content IP developer and distributor that would go on to pick up deals with Ryan’s World, Toys and Colors, Love Diana, and more.
This year’s Creators in Action is co-chaired by digital industry veteran/current CAA senior leader Brent Weinstein (who’s also a member of Saban Community Clinic’s Friends Board) and Mythical Entertainment President Brian Flanagan.
The gala’s host committee is also stocked with creator industry members, including Ali Berman (Partner and co-head of UTA Creators at United Talent Agency), Ben Davis (Partner and co-head of WME Digital), Lauren Schwartz (attorney at Hansen, Jacobson, et al.), Megan Smith (publicist at Align Public Relations), Dan Weinstein (co-founder of Underscore Talent), Max Cutler (founder of Pave Studios, formerly at Spotify), and Rana Zand (talent manager at Range Media Partners).
“Chris and Valkyrae are not only shaping the future of entertainment, but also using their platforms to uplift others,” Weinstein and Flanagan said in a statement. “Their influence represents the power of creativity to drive real-world change, and we are thrilled to honor their contributions at this year’s event.”
Proceeds from the event–to be held Sept. 8 at the Santa Monica offices of Range Media Partners–will go to Saban Community Clinic, helping it provide medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare services to low-income and uninsured patients. It currently handles over 150,000 appointments each year, and 83% of people it sees are living below the federal poverty line.
