With three weeks left in the 2024 calendar year, some of YouTube’s biggest channels are closing in on some round-number milestones. T-Series (#1 in the Global Top 50) has pushed its subscriber count past 280 million, Vietnamese comedy channel ToRung (#5) is approaching 25 billion lifetime views, and MrBeast (#6) is about to become the first YouTuber with more than 340 million subscribers.

Those record-breakers span from the English-speaking world to the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, another one of the world’s regions is producing its own crop of YouTube superstars.
The YouTube chart-toppers of the Hispanophone world
Creators based in Spain, Mexico, Central America, and South America have already made their mark on YouTube, and their growth is becoming más rapido as they harness the best practices on YouTube Shorts.
The creator who best exemplifies the trends associated with Hispanic creators is Alfredo Larín. When the Salvadoran videomaker came onto our radar in July 2023, he was already a short-form star whose comedy skits were resonating with viewers across the Spanish-speaking world.
As big as Larín was last July, his profile has only gone up as his YouTube Shorts view count has increased. His recent seven-day numbers rank among the biggest weeks he’s ever had on YouTube. For two weeks in a row, he’s pulled in more than 400 million weekly views. That’s a feat he had only accomplished twice over the preceding 12 months.
Larín has become a familiar stalwart in the Global Top 50, but other notable names in the Hispanic creator community are hot on their heels. One short-form influencer who just showed up in our ranking for the first time is Dan. The Spain-based content aggregator shares some unusual stories from the world of science (did you know you can regrow an ear inside your body?) while also providing more practical advice. If you’re staying over with a rich friend and want to know the proper etiquette, Dan has a video for that.

The channel once known as BigDanBaby is growing up and finding a wide audience through a diverse range of content. That seems to be a common story across the Hispanophone world — at least as far as YouTube is concerned.
