One billion views in a single week is a rare occurrence on YouTube, but T-Series could get there as early as next week. The Indian record label was already #1 in our Global Top 50, and it made its lead even bigger by increasing its total traffic by 9% week-over-week. That brought it up to 971.6 million weekly views, just a stone’s throw away from a cool billion.

T-Series’ homeland of India has long been the most, dominant country in the Global Top 50, and it still contributes the most channels to the ranking, with stalwarts like KL BRO Biju Rithvik (#3) and Anaya Kandhal (#6) nearing the top of the heap. But another nation to India’s southeast is becoming a haven for vertical video creators, who are flourishing on YouTube Shorts.
Each Indonesian creator is special in their own way
We already knew that Indonesia is one of the hottest markets on TikTok, contributing billions of views and millions of ecommerce dollars every year. Now, short-form creators from the world’s fourth-most populous nation are taking over YouTube as well.
This week, five different Indonesia creators are ranked in the Global Top 50. Interestingly, all five are women: Leika Garudita (#21), Virola_Chan (#25), nurrayni25 (#28), ANDITA channel (#35), and Miss Bella (#46).
Of that group, Garudita has had the most staying power. The kid-friendly creator has become a familiar face in our rankings over the past three months, as she’s boosted her average weekly viewership from about 150 million views all the way up to 300 million and beyond.

The Indonesian creators joining Garudita in the Top 50 cover a wide swath of the most popular categories on YouTube Shorts. There’s a mix of reaction creators, artists, amateur chefs, and sketch comedians. In the Indonesian Shorts community, some individuals prefer to differentiate themselves by donning a memorable piece of clothing. That’s why Virola_Chan is rarely seen without her cat ears, and why Miss Bella wears a furry cap.

So, to recap: If you’re Indonesian, and you want your YouTube channel to rank among the 50 most-watched hubs in the world, then pick a lane and assemble a distinctive getup. And if you’re a female creator, that might help too.
