For the second week in a row, the top five channels in the U.S. Top 50 are the same quintet from the previous week, with only slight changes to their running order. Despite that uniformity, there are plenty of storylines to unpack from this week’s ranking.

Alan Chikin Chow is the Iron Man of YouTube Shorts
A lot of names come and go in the U.S. Top 50. A year ago, J House jr. was nowhere to be found in the all-American ranking, but it’s now #1 in the chart with more than 722 million weekly views. On the flipside, MaviGadget was once a strong #1 in this chart, but it has fallen out of the Top 50 entirely.
Of the creators who remain omnipresent in the U.S. Top 50, I don’t think anyone has as much longevity as Alan Chikin Chow. He’s been a familiar face in the top ten for years, and his brand of short-form comedy has found fans both domestically and abroad.
Alan Chikin Chow’s presence in the charts goes in waves. He’ll lurk in the top ten for a while before bursting up to the #1 spot, as he did this past June. Though his viewership seemed to decline since then, he’s now on the rebound once again. He just hit 7th place after collecting nearly 300 million weekly views and improving his YouTube traffic by 14% week-over-week.
Though his videos may be funny, his ability to stick around near the top of our leaderboard is no laughing matter. As you can imagine, consistency is key. Nary a day goes by in which a new Alan Chikin Chow video does not arrive.
Yudha man now, cat
It’s a truth as old as the internet itself: Want more attention? Slap a cat on it.
Felines have boosted traffic on YouTube Shorts channels for as long as YouTube Shorts has been a thing, and Yudha is the latest creator benefitting from that trend. Over the past week, Yudha has rocketed up the charts thanks to his activity on YouTube Shorts. He has gone from about one million daily views up to 35 million before plateauing (at least for now) around 15 million.
Yudha’s tendency to stick cats in the middle of all his Shorts has certainly affected his channel’s viewership, but he also has his eyes on another emerging trend: the Venom film franchise. Fans of the Spider-Man foe have helped distributor Sony break records on social media, and indie creators like Yudha are benefitting from that hype as well.
With a new Venom film right around the corner, Yudha has seen viewership on some of his videos go through the room. This Venom-adjacent clip is now over 59 million views and counting.
The CrunchBros eat their lunch on YouTube Shorts
We’ve already devoted a lot of space to food channels that let cute kids do the eating, and The CrunchBros is one of those hubs. Like a lot of the other channels in its category, The CrunchBros features a parent and their child — a father and son, in this case — as they try to eat everything under the sun.
You may think that a channel called The CrunchBros will be limited to certain types of foods, but the titular duo doesn’t always keep it crunchy. In fact, the Bros seem to enjoy all different types of mouthfeels, ranging from crunchy fried chicken to chewy, juicy soup dumplings. Watch out for that splash zone!
As someone whose Shorts feed is filled with fried chicken and Asian food videos, I’m not sure how the CrunchBros have failed to show up among my recommended videos. Nevertheless, the culinary channel is appearing in a lot of other peoples’ feeds. By getting 119.4 million weekly views, The CrunchBros made their first appearance in the U.S. Top 50, coming in at 40th place. And since I’ve said so many nice things about them here, they’ll hopefully invite me to their next soup dumpling outing.
