The 100 most-watched YouTube channels during February 2024 all received at least at least 600 million monthly views. The leader of our Global Top 100 more than quadrupled that number.

How do these channels get so much traffic? A robust presence on Shorts is usually part of the plan, but a few chart leaders are still able to buck convention.
Chart Toppers
T-Series only notched a single #1 finish over the four weekly charts we published in February, but its consistent production across all four weeks pushed it to the front of the Global Top 100. The prominent Indian record label brought in 2.69 billion monthly views in February, which was 7% less traffic than what it earned in January. That dip shrank T-Series’ lead in the Global Top 100, but it is still on top of the heap, and it just became the first YouTube channel with 260 million subscribers. How many more record-breaking accomplishments will T-Series add?
The channel that ended T-Series’ stint at #1 during the second week of February finished with the second-most views of the month. ToRung has found a way to translate its brand of comedy to appeal to viewers outside of its home nation of Vietnam. Thanks to a little help from some ridiculous thumbnails, ToRung is the highest-ranking YouTube Shorts hub in the Global Top 100. Its 2.42 billion monthly views represent a week-over-week bump of 10%, which pushed ToRung from third place in our monthly ranking up to second.
The highest-ranking U.S.-based channel in the chart is sitting in the #3 position. MaviGadget improved on its Global Top 100 placement from January by adding 2.34 billion monthly views, which was 14% more hits than its total from the first month of the year. MaviGadget had the most #1 finishes among February’s weekly charts, as it got the most YouTube views during the final two weeks of the month. Despite that distinction, it did not rise higher than third place in our worldwide ranking. I guess the volatile nature of Shorts viewership is to blame.
Two Canadian family channels rounded out this month’s Global Top 100. Up first is Diary of 4, which has strung together a series of strong chart performances since the start of the new year. After landing in sixth place in last month’s Global Top 100, Diary of 4 cracked the top five by bringing in 2.07 billion monthly views. That sum brought its lifetime YouTube total above 11 billion views, and it is also closing in on seven million subscribers. Things are looking up for this fearsome foursome.
The other Canadian purveyor of kid-friendly content rounds out the latest Global Top 100. Sierra and Rhia Fam is right behind its compatriot for the second month in a row. It snagged 1.95 billion monthly views to jump from seventh up to fifth.
Top Gainers
YouTube challenges allow like-minded creators to connect by trying out widely proliferated video formats. ElaFrame, however, has found a different use for challenges: For the lone Slovak representative in February’s Global Top 100, YouTube Shorts games are a source of viral marketing.
ElaFrame is not just a channel name, but also a brand name. The young company is a purveyor of display cases that suspend prized objects between two sturdy pieces of stretchy material. Its YouTube challenges double as testimonials; by showing the ElaFrame’s ability to successfully contain oversized objects (such as an entire Prime bottle), the brand’s social team displays the strength of the product. (They probably attracted a lot of Logan Paul and KSI fans as well.)
I love the creative strategies ElaFrame uses to advertise its proprietary display case while also entertaining its 1.7 million subscribers. By watching videos on the company’s Shorts channel, I have learned the semi-biographical history of its invention and have even witnessed the product’s limitations. I don’t know if I’m ready to buy an ElaFrame myself, but I appreciate the honesty of these demonstrations.
A lot of Shorts viewers are enjoying ElaFrame’s approach to the format. The Slovakia-based channel accrued 828.5 million monthly views in February, which put it in 55th place in the Global Top 100. ElaFrame’s monthly total is about half of the lifetime viewership it has received on YouTube, but I expect it to find more success as the year wears on.
The results of ElaFrame’s Shorts experiments are clear. TikTok may be hyping itself as a powerful short-form video partner for brands, but YouTube Shorts is also working for small business owners in ways that shouldn’t be understated.
