Host of ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast taps TikTokers Alix Earle, Madeline Argy for new media company

Alex Cooper is establishing “a platform for this generation’s unique voices that embrace social challenges and personal insecurities through honest conversation.” That’s the official description of The Unwell Network, a venture that will unite the host of the Call Her Daddy podcast with TikTok stars like Alix Earle and Madeline Argy.

Cooper is launching The Unwell Network as a subsidiary of her other Gen Z-focused media company. In June, the Call Her Daddy host teamed up with her fiancé Matt Kaplan (who is the CEO of ACE Entertainment) to launch Trending, a producer of scripted and unscripted content that will also extend into merchanding, podcasting, and live events. That banner is now the parent company of both Call Her Daddy and ACE Entertainment.

The Unwell Network will also factor into the future of Call Her Daddy. It will become the producer of Cooper’s flagship podcast, which provides major boosts to its guests and contributors. The Call Her Daddy bump has gotten so big that the podcast even earned a shoutout from Spotify CEO Daniel Ek during the audio platform’s Q2 2023 earnings call.

“I have an uncommon and amazing relationship with my audience. We have this connection and bond built upon trust that’s allowed us to cover all sorts of topics in a way that isn’t exclusive or intrusive,” Cooper said in a statement. “We live in a world where we are inundated with content, but The Unwell Network will be the source everyone can go to for unique perspectives exploring what’s top of mind today for this generation.”

Cooper won’t be the only creator who benefits from The Unwell Network. The new venture is looking to produce content that will excite Gen Z audiences, and its first two marquee signings are both big names within that cohort. Earle, whose “get ready with me” videos have spawned a namesake “effect,” and Argy, known for her storytelling videos, are both on the rise in their home countries (the United States and the United Kingdom, respectively).

Alongside Earle and Argy, Unwell will develop multiplatform projects that could span a variety of formats and categories. As of yet, there aren’t any details about specific shows that will be produced under the Unwell banner. We’ll be on the lookout for Cooper and Kaplan’s next announcement.
