Top 50 Most Viewed US YouTube Channels • Week Of 02/01/2021

We’re back for our latest ranking of the top 50 most viewed US-based YouTube channels of the week. As per usual, the top spots in the chart were reserved for channels that cater to babies, toddlers, and young children. Further down the list, some other familiar faces resumed their usual dominance of the online video industry.

Chart Toppers

Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes may not be able to catch T-Series at the top of our global top 50, but the Southern California-based animation hub can still tout its status as the most viewed US-based YouTube channel. Its collection of videos — which, as its name implies, includes nursery rhymes — received 751 million weekly views in our latest count. That was more traffic than Cocomelon pulled in last week and more than enough to top the next-most popular American channel, Kids Diana Show. That kid-friendly hub retained its status as our US runner-up thanks to its 442.8 million weekly views.

This week, the only change in our US top five came at #3, which Vlad and Niki occupied a week after the Russian-American family vlog finished fourth in the nation. Its 417.2 million weekly views represented a 3% week-over-week increase. The channel it supplanted to reach its current chart position, Like Nastya, fell back to fourth in the US. That kid-friendly channel counted 399.2 million weekly views, which meant a viewership dip of 15%.

As it is wont to do, WWE finished fifth in our latest US top 50. The official YouTube home of World Wrestling Entertainment added 267.4 million weekly views to its lifetime total (which is now approaching 55 billion).

Top Gainers

It’s been more than six years since Markiplier soared up the YouTube charts thanks to his spirited playthroughs of the horror video game Five Nights At Freddy’s. A lot has changed since 2014, but the popular gamer, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, remains one of YouTube’s biggest draws, and our most-recent seven-day measurement period was particularly kind to him. Over that time, the Markiplier channel received 60.2 million weekly views, which was 11% more than what it registered the week prior. That traffic vaulted Fischbach into our US top 50, where he topped out in 40th place.

So what games is Markiplier enjoying these days? One of his most meta clips of the moment involves his exploration of the game Streamer Life Simulator, which attempts to gamify the world of a live streaming content creator. While playing the game, Markiplier mused about how it represented an alternate reality in which he received his big break on Twitch rather than YouTube.

So yeah, Markiplier is still raking in views millions at a time. And if he had been a Twitch streamer at first, I bet his silky smooth voice would have made him a big act on that platform, too.
