Hulu’s Longtime CFO Elaine Paul Joins Amazon Studios In Same Role

Hulu’s longtime CFO Elaine Paul, who has been with the streamer since 2013, has joined rival Amazon Studios in the same role.

Paul’s official title at Amazon Studios will be CFO and VP of finance. At the same time, Amazon’s current head of finance, strategy, and business development, Doug Hott, is leaving the company after four years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Paul joins a handful of other C-suite recruits at Amazon under the tutelage of new studio head Jennifer Salke. Since coming onboard last year, Salke has hired former YouTube exec Jon Wax and former NBC exec Vernon Sanders. Wax was officially tapped as Amazon’s head of genre programming yesterday, while Sanders — who formerly served as NBC’s EVP of current programming — was named Amazon’s co-head of television last spring.
