Changes are coming to Facebook, and the platform’s parent company seems to be drawing influence from TikTok (again). A new app called Seller will make Facebook Marketplace feel more like TikTok Shop, and an upcoming test will experiment with an Immersive Video feed that automatically plays full-screen content when the Facebook app is opened.
Marketplace, now ten years old, has long been a favorite among secondhand shoppers. In recent years, the rapid rise of TikTok Shop has led Facebook to recontextualize its ecommerce hub. A cross-country tour promoted Marketplace last year, and Facebook followed up that effort by delivering some creator-curated collections ahead of the holiday season.
Now, with the arrival of the Seller app, Facebook is building a space where the most prolific Marketplace sellers can organize their wares. “If you’re listing thirty items a week, it gets a lot simpler,” reads a Meta blog post.

Like the TikTok Shop app, Seller offers a central hub where vendors can manage messages, listings, and inventory. Since this is Meta we’re talking about, you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that some AI-powered creation tools have been incorporated into Seller.
The upcoming experiment on the main Facebook app will be a more drastic shift toward TikTok-style entertainment. When the Immersive Video test begins later this year, some users will see full-screen videos from the jump — just like they would if they opened up TikTok.
Meta’s blog post stresses that users will still be able to access the “Classic Feed,” and members of the experimental group will have the ability to opt out at any time. The test will begin in “video-heavy countries” before later expanding to the U.S.
Facebook’s new look will not just draw inspiration from TikTok. The platform is also launching a program called Facebook Verified, which resembles the verification system that is associated with apps like X.
