Brace yourself, parents: A top Roblox game wants to be the next ‘Minecraft Movie’.

The trend of kids shouting memes at movie screens began with the chicken jockey, but it won’t end there. The next Gen Alpha cultural touchstone set to transition to the big screen is the Roblox game Steal A Brainrot, which is being adapted into a feature film.

The film is currently in its early development stages, with Story Kitchen taking the lead on the project. The L.A.-based production company is known for helming movie adaptations of popular video game franchises. Alongside big-screen versions of titles like Tomb Raider and Just Cause, Story Kitchen has set its sights on a Roblox game that reached 25.8 million concurrent players in October 2025.

The success of A Minecraft Movie showed that Gen Alpha has become a force to be reckoned with at the box office. Even though some of the children who saw Minecraft in theaters were disruptive, the blockbuster took home nearly $1 billion, making it the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2025.

If a Minecraft adaptation worked, then a filmic foray into the Roblox universe is a likely next step. Top Hollywood studios are eager to use Roblox as a marketing vehicle for their theatrical releases, so why not just skip the middleman and make a Roblox movie that can be promoted on Roblox?

And if Roblox adaptations are on the menu, it makes sense for Steal A Brainrot to be up first. The competitive item collection game isn’t just a hit with millions of players — it’s full of the same type of memetic references that made A Minecraft Movie as big of a smash as it was. Developer SpyderSammy is a larger-than-life figure who has stirred up drama to smash Roblox records, and “brainrot” characters like Tralalero Tralala and Ballerina Cappuccina can serve as the chicken jockeys of this particular property.

The biggest question is whether Story Kitchen and its partners can complete a feature film in time to take advantage of the Steal A Brainrot hype. The effort to turn brainrot franchise Skibidi Toilet into a movie has made the Alphans impatient, with some of them asking for Skibidi creator Boom to reclaim a bigger role in the proceedings.

At the very least, Story Kitchen clearly understands the audience it hopes to reach with its Steal A Brainrot adaptation. “We’re thrilled to bring STEAL A BRAINROT to the big screen,” said Story Kitchen Co-Founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Michael Lawrence Goldberg said in a joint statement. “Noobini Pizzanini 6-7.”

With that overt appeal to the brainrot generation, Johnson and Goldberg are clearly barking up the right tree. Hopefully their movie steals the hearts of young moviegoers (and their Cocofanto Elefantos).
