On June 18, one of the biggest cultural moments in Twitch history took place. The Streamer Prom, a massive gala featuring more than 50 of the biggest streamers and creators in the world, soared to a whopping 4.49 million hours of live watch time across all of the Twitch channels that covered it.
The brain trust behind the Streamer Prom consisted of longtime chart-topper FunnyMike and his management team at Fixated. The year-old firm handled the Streamer Prom from end to end, tackling tasks as diverse as creative direction, production, and brand partnerships.
The result was a glitzy celebration of streamer culture, with some of the biggest names in the community looking their best in their prom night fits. Attendees included DDG, Sketch, Wendy Ortiz, and members of the FaZe Clan and AMP creator groups. Many of the assembled individuals broadcast the bash on their respective Twitch accounts. DDG’s stream claimed the most total watch hours, topping out at 807,800.

DDG’s massive stream was just the tip of the iceberg. 1,575 unique channels covered the event, the prom peaked at 562,883 concurrent viewers, and FunnyMike set a personal record by reaching 218,121 concurrents on his channel alone. According to data provided by Fixated, the Streamer Prom produced 513 years of watch time — and that total doesn’t even include the resulting VODs on hubs like YouTube and TikTok.
More than anything else, the Streamer Prom revealed the close-knit community that has formed in the world of top-tier streamers. As with events like the Streamer Awards and Kai Cenat‘s Streamer University, FunnyMike’s party gave viewers the chance to enjoy the interwoven storylines and relationships that define the culture of platforms like Twitch. In a way, it resembled an old-school YouTube event, back when YouTube felt more like a club of like-minded artists than the tapestry of diverse niches it is today.
Several moments from the Streamer Prom help explain what makes that sense of community so powerful. Many viewers were fixated (no pun intended) on the relationship between Twitch big-shot jasontheween and Sakura, the sister of Valorant star Kyedae. Jason and Sakura attended Streamer Prom as a couple dubbed Jakura, with their own theme song to boot. The romance proved so enrapturing that it drew the attention of NBA star Kyrie Irving and even distracted Hasan Piker from his coverage of the war in the Middle East.
Brand sponsor Popeye’s also got in on the fun by crowning the prom king and awarding the prom queen with a $10,000 prize. The chicken chain even brought a representative to the dance floor, where he chatted with the assembled streamers.
“Streamer Prom is proof of where the culture is headed. Streaming has overtaken every other form of media consumption for this generation, and creators like FunnyMike aren’t just riding the wave, they’re shaping it,” Fixated Founding Partner and CEO Zach Katz told Tubefilter. “What he pulled off wasn’t just entertaining, it was conceptually sharp, creatively bold, and flawlessly executed. At Fixated, this is exactly why we exist: to go all-in with visionary creators and help bring their most ambitious ideas to life. FunnyMike set a new bar, and the industry is taking notice.”
The attention paid to the Streamer Prom extended beyond the creator industry. The event was a top-trending topic on X, and it provided living proof that streamer culture is now mainstream culture. With some many eccentric personalities to follow and so much drama to delve into, why wouldn’t it be?
