Items from Rhett and Link‘s morning show have been enshrined in the nation’s capital. The videomaking duo took a trip to Washington, D.C. to drop off several props from Good Mythical Morning at the Smithsonian Institution.
Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, who have co-hosted Good Mythical Morning each weekday since 2012, contributed to the Smithsonian’s “Entertainment Nation” exhibit, which features artifacts that span 150 years of American content. Rhett and Link’s additions to the exhibit include the original blindfolds they used for GMM taste tests and a microphone they used to record the show.
Entertainment Nation highlights include Star Wars props and Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz. Despite that company, Rhett and Link brushed off the idea that they are becoming relics of the past. “That’s right, your boys are museum-worthy,” Neal said in a video. “Does that mean we’re old now?”

“Nah man,” McLaughlin replied. “It means the Smithsonian knows what time it is.”
@mythical The original GMM mic & blindfolds (gifted to us by an incredible fan so many years ago!) have found a new home. We’re absolutely honored to join the ranks of so many entertainment icons in the Smithsonian’s #americanhistorymuseum ♬ original sound – Rhett & Link
The National Museum of American History, which is part of the Smithsonian, discussed Rhett and Link’s donation while reeling off some of the impressive stats the duo has compiled. More than 2,600 episodes of Good Mythical Morning have been uploaded since the show’s premiere in 2012.
This is not the first time the Smithsonian has shown an interest in creator culture. It previously enshrined mementos from The Guild, the groundbreaking web series led by Felicia Day.
Rhett and Link are the latest creators to become pieces of American history, but they’re not letting that distinction slow them down. Recent items on their jam-packed agenda have included a nationwide tour and continued investments in their fellow creators. Their company, Mythical Entertainment, recently hired VC vet Jawhara Tariq as its SVP of strategy, corporate developments, and investments.
