In May, the richest channels in our Global Top 100 got richer. All of the five most-watched channels of the month enjoyed double-digit percentage increases over their respective viewership totals in April.

Those gains allowed four of the channels in question to retain their placements in the top five, while the last member of the group moved up from sixth place.
Chart Toppers
Anaya Kandhal is sitting at the front of our Global Top 100 for the second month in a row. The Indian family creator didn’t have quite as dominant of a run as the one she put together in April, when she led all of the weekly charts we published. But even if some other channels stole Anaya’s shine on a week-to-week basis, she still improved her YouTube traffic by 14% month-over-month and held onto the top spot by earning 3.52 billion monthly views. That made her the only creator to cross the three billion view mark during the fifth month of the year.
T-Series finished second behind Anaya Kandhal for the second month in a row. Though the Indian record label lost YouTube’s subscriber crown to MrBeast, it beat the American creator in terms of monthly views. After raising its traffic by 14% month-over-month, T-Series came within a stone’s throw of three billion hits, topping out at 2.9 billion monthly views. The leading South Asian entertainment company is now the first YouTube channel with at least 256 billion lifetime views. Its subscriber count of 266 million is quite impressive as well.
KL BRO Biju Rithvik made it three consecutive India-based channels at the front of this month’s Global Top 100. Like the channel in the #1 spot, KL BRO is a family-friendly hub that finds a lot of its viewers among non-English speakers in South Asia. With that community pacing it, KL BRO picked up 2.58 billion monthly views during May. That was 31% more traffic than the amount it posted in April, and as a result, it moved up one spot in our worldwide ranking. Next month, we’re expecting it to surpass 50 million subscribers as well.
MaviGadget is sitting in fourth place in the Global Top 100. The highest-ranking non-Indian channel in the chart moved into the top five after finishing just outside that group during April. With videos that typically depict machines, assembly lines, and other related gizmos, MaviGadget collected 2.4 billion monthly views, which gave it a month-over-month traffic bump of 35%. The majority of those views came on YouTube Shorts, where MaviGadget has excelled since the advent of YouTube’s TikTok competitor.
MrBeast rounds out this month’s global top five. Despite taking the subscriber crown from T-Series and increasing his traffic by 25% month-over-month, Jimmy Donaldson did not improve his chart position and finished the measurement period with 2.3 billion monthly views.
Top Gainers
Clowns get a bad rap among today’s kids, but an Argentina-based channel is out to prove that goofy characters in wigs and face paint still have a place in today’s children’s media landscape. The channel’s name is El Payaso Plim Plim, with “payaso” meaning “clown” and “Plim Plim” meaning “a silly name for a clown who entertains children on YouTube Shorts.”
Argentina is a hotbed for YouTube Kids channels. South American standouts like El Reino Infantil have become regulars in our charts and favorite channels for youngsters around the world.
This month, however, it’s Plim Plim’s turn to hit the charts. The colorful character peaked in 91st place in the Global Top 100 after receiving 751.9 million monthly views. That total, which represented an 18% month-over-month increase for the family-friendly hub, pushed Plim Plim above 23 billion lifetime views.
The Plim Plim videos that are going viral include some long-form sing-alongs, but the channel’s embrace of YouTube Shorts has brought its viewership to the next level. Plim Plim’s vertical videos distill its sing-alongs into individual ditties, which are sung by a cast of fauna that includes pigs, giraffes, and frogs (oh my!)
This summer, Plim Plim and friends will have a chance to ignite further growth if they buy into their home country’s favorite sport. It will be a busy summer for soccer fans, with events like the Olympic tournament and the Copa America taking place. Plim Plim already has a bit of football fever, and if anyone gets hurt during a big match, this channel knows what to do about an “ouchi ouchi.”
Plim Plim will fix up that scraped knee just like it fixes its position in our charts. Looking for this kid-friendly hub to move up in coming months.
