JiDion has returned to Twitch. More than two years after his account on the platform was suspended, the controversial creator (whose real name is Jidon Adams) has had his streaming privileges reinstated.
The story so far
Adams started streaming in 2018, and he quickly rose up the ranks through a brash brand of prank content. His rise on Twitch included numerous controversies. He was banned from professional tennis and basketball leagues after performing outlandish stunts during games.
Despite those IRL antics, the offense that led to the suspension of the JiDion account occurred online. Early in 2022, the streamer sent his fans to the account of Pokimane, where they carried out a “hate raid.” When Twitch determined that Adams had sicced his followers on his rival streamer, the Amazon-owned platform hit him with a two-week suspension that was eventually extended to a permanent ban.

During the two years he spent wandering in the proverbial desert, Adams repeatedly lobbied for the reinstatement of his JiDion Twitch account, but the platform didn’t budge. Adams remained banned on Twitch even though he professed that he is a changed man who regrets his past prank videos and wants to spread the gospel of Christ instead.
Finally, after 832 days of no Twitch activity, Adams successfully appealed his ban and returned to his long-dormant account. He celebrated Twitch’s decision on X. “It happened,” wrote the man known as JiDion.
Twitch is ready to make nice
As JiDion returned to Twitch, fellow streamer Mizkif attempted to take credit for the platform’s decision. He explained that he personally appealed to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy after JiDion asked him to put in a good word.
But there’s a simpler explanation for all of this: Twitch is trying to rehabilitate its reputation among big-name streamers, many of whom left the platform after disagreeing with its policies. BruceDropEmOff took his talents to Kick after receiving a ban from Twitch, while Sykkuno departed for YouTube and questioned the sincerity of Twitch’s relationship with top talent.
Both of those streamers have recently returned to Twitch. BruceDropEmOff announced a full-time return to the platform, while Sykkuno came back to his “home” after his deal with YouTube expired. It seems that Clancy is serious in his attempt to become every creator’s best friend, and perhaps the streets of Twitch’s competitors are not paved with quite as much gold as initially advertised.
But what about…
Ok. Since banned streamers are coming back to Twitch, let’s address the elephant in the room: A certain banned streamer who goes by the name DrDisrespect.
Guy Beahm has been barred from Twitch for nearly four years, and though numerous theories exist, we’ve never received an official explanation for the DrDisrespect ban. Twitch streamers like Kai Cenat have tried convincing Clancy to overturn Beahm’s suspension, but the Twitch CEO has mostly responded with jokes.
Even with JiDion back on Twitch, DrDisrespect fans shouldn’t except their guy to be the next unbanned streamer. Some offenses can’t be excused, and Beahm’s transgressions seem to fall in the category — whatever they may be.
