Serena Williams’ venture fund leads €1.4 million funding round for creator business builder KLIQ

A new startup lets creators launch their own businesses, and all it takes is a few KLIQs. Serena Ventures, the firm led by all-time tennis great Serena Williams, has led a €1.4 million pre-seed round that will provide KLIQ with the runway it needs to build out its suite of business development tools.

London-based KLIQ launched in 2022 and was previously known as Remote Coach. Its no-code app development platform is designed for creators who want to deliver exclusive content or launch educational courses.

With its latest injection of funding, KLIQ plans to expand its team and hone its product, with a particular focus on AI development. The platform’s AI Business Assistant equips creators with audience analytics and business management insights once their projects go live.

Williams’ early-stage venture capital fund is investing in KLIQ to help the company “redefine how we perceive creators as the backbone of the next generation of small and medium-sized businesses,” as the 23-time Grand Slam champion put it in a statement. Previous KLIQ investors include other figures from the world of sports, including retired soccer player Kieran Gibbs.

The one-time Arsenal star is no doubt familiar with creator businesses. His former club named Logan Paul and KSI‘s Prime  as its official hydration drink in 2022. “KLIQ prioritizes accessibility and ease so that experts from any field can build closer connections and share their passion and knowledge with those who are looking to develop and grow,” Gibbs said in a statement.

KLIQ is led by CEO Ben Camara. Creators who are interested in launching business ventures through the new platform can register as KLIQ users to begin the development process.
