TikToker Tim Schaecker launches CNDO, where creators complete challenges with their fans

Tim Schaecker is showing the world that he has a CNDO attitude. That’s the name of the German TikToker’s new platform, which is based around social challenges that can be completed by creators and their fans.

Schaecker, who reaches nearly nine million followers on TikTok, is a member of the creator-group-turned-boy-band Elevator Boys. He teamed up with Co-Founders Kian Seifert and Jordi Walde to launch CNDO in beta in October 2023. According to TechCrunch, the platform debuted with 820 active users and more than 5,000 people on its waitlist.

Creators make up only a small portion of CNDO’s user base. There are currently about 11 creators on the platform, including some notable influencers from the German-speaking world. On CNDO, those creators host exclusive “clubs” where they can connect with fans and issue group challenges. As an example, TechCrunch suggested that a CNDO creator could share a fitness goal and work towards it alongside their club members.

Some clubs are paywalled, with creators charging monthly subscription fees for members. In those cases, CNDO (which is pronounced like “condo”) takes a 20% cut of earnings.

Schaecker is not known for publishing challenge videos himself; his TikTok hits include dance tutorials and collabs with other members of the Elevator Boys. On CNDO, however, he doesn’t even see himself as the center of attention. “As the creator, I am not in the middle of the spotlight,” Schaecker told TechCrunch. “I’m more of a community member, and that is what [CNDO] is all about. We want to focus on the end-user, on getting better together with those challenges, and focusing on the possibility of meeting like-minded people.”

Creators can apply to join CNDO through the platform’s homepage. Applicants who are accepted will be able to set up their own clubs, complete with community group chats.

CNDO picked up a $1 million pre-seed funding round in May 2023. The platform’s investor list includes the other four members of the Elevator Boys, who are expected to set up clubs of their own.
