Ironmouse just snagged a first-of-its-kind deal with Razer. She hopes it’s a sign more brands will embrace VTubers.

Ironmouse has snagged a first-of-its-kind sponsorship deal with gamer tech company Razer. She hopes it’s a sign that more and more brands will be open to major partnerships with VTubers.

As part of the deal, Ironmouse – who is the most-followed English-language VTuber on Twitch, a founding member of VTuber talent group VShojo, and just became the first VTuber to win Content Creator of the Year at the annual Game Awards – is introducing a revamp of her bright and bubbly demon-girl model, featuring a pink, cat-ear Razer headset.

When her new model isn’t wearing the headset, it’ll appear behind her as she’s streaming. Razer branding will also appear across her channel. With over 1.8 million followers, that’s a lot of potential eyeballs. The real version of the headset her model is wearing is for sale on Razer’s website.

Ironmouse tells Tubefilter that Razer was a natural sponsor choice for her because “I’ve been using Razer products for quite some time throughout my VTubing-slash-streaming career.”

“I’m the first VTuber to ever partner with them,” she says. “I’m just really happy to be working with them, and I’m extremely honored.” She adds that her teams at VShojo and UTA “worked really hard to make all this possible for me, so I’m just incredibly grateful.”

VTubing got its start in Japan around a decade ago, but the English-speaking VTuber presence on Twitch has grown exponentially since 2020. As more people come to understand the space and the creators who populate it, more brands are opening up to working with VTubers and their models.

The and their models bit there is crucial. Many VTubers are faceless creators who don’t show their IRL visage and sometimes use changers to alter their IRL voices, or text-to-speech programs to create entirely new voices. These VTubers lean into their models as online personas, sometimes giving them unique personalities and extensive narrative backstories (like fellow VShojo member Zentreya

, whom we spoke to earlier this year; her model has enough lore to flesh out an entire world, which is exactly what she’s doing).

Ironmouse says that when working with Razer and other brand partners, she makes it clear that “You’re working with Ironmouse. You’re not working with the lady behind the curtain.”

Working with VTuber models has a cool upside, she adds. Since VTubers are able to make tweaks to their models’ appearances without too much difficulty and build (or commission) custom props for them to use, brands like Razer can request that VTubers look a certain way or wield a certain item as part of their deals.

“A VTuber can change their look at the drop of a hat,” she says. “We could look any way or fit any type of aesthetic you want. I just feel like the possibilities are endless when you work with a VTuber. If I were to ever work with a brand and they would tell me, ‘Hey, we want you to look this way for this type of thing,’ I’d be like, ‘Hell yeah. Let’s do it.’ I think it’s amazing.”

Ironmouse’s new model, debuting today on her channel, is a mashup of her previous looks–and “a celebration of all this time I’ve been streaming,” she says.

As for what else is in the pipeline for her, she plans to continue raising money for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, and says she and other VShojo VTubers “have a lot of stuff planned and a lot of really fun things coming up. Fun events.”

“I think it’ll be interesting for you guys to see it,” she says. “I think you’ll be really surprised and really excited to see all the cool, fun stuff we’re up to.”
