And we’re now also brought to you in part by link in bio service Bio Sites from Squarespace.
Tis the season: my nephew, like thousands of other grade schoolers, just brought home the annual school fundraising kit.
And that had me remembering–earlier this year, YouTube‘s favorite Texan trickshotters, Dude Perfect, partnered with school fundraising company Booster to become part of the whole shebang.
The deal was a smart one for rigorously family-friendly Dude Perfect. They offered up the chance to win tickets to its then-upcoming “Panda-Monium” tour, plus some other branded prizes, all of which had them front and center in fundraising materials for screen-savvy kids who might give watching their videos a chance.
At the time, Booster’s CEO said the fundraising company works with more than 8,000 schools every year. Dude Perfect has 60 million followers, sure, but this kind of collaboration puts them not only in front of the kids their videos are aimed at, but parents and other relatives who might now be more willing to splash out for tour tickets if their kid isn’t one of the winners.
What’s also possible–and interesting–is that Dude Perfect’s deal could open the door for other digital content creators to partner with Booster and similar fundraising companies. Creators like MrBeast are household names for kids my nephew’s age. It’s not too big of a stretch to imagine we might see them in the classroom, too.
I get into all this and more with Lauren Schnipper in the latest installment of Creator Upload. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or whenever you listen. You’re gonna dig it.
