TikTok Live is launching a global campaign that will span more than 50 countries and regions

TikTok is preparing a campaign that will promote the app’s products, boost its streaming community, and dole out rewards for its creators. TikTok Live Fest will kick off later in November with a series of initiatives and challenges that will all be centered around the TikTok Live hub.

In a Newsroom post, TikTok explained that Live Fest will span more than 50 countries and regions. “Throughout the event, creators have the opportunity to collect rewards for going LIVE, connect with other creators, and share their creativity with a global audience,” reads the post. “Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing updates on @TikTokLIVE_US about the event and how to join in the fun.”

By launching their own broadcast, creators can claim rewards during the duration of TikTok Live Fest. As the event begins, TikTok will publish a ranking that will be led by the community members who go live most often during the campaign. The creators at the top of the leaderboard will earn prizes, including (in some cases) invitations to a “VIP global creator award event early next year.” A series of Live Fest challenges will provide additional chances to claim rewards.

With Live Fest, TikTok is looking to build on the momentum it has created through its previous live initiatives. Earlier this year, the app offered a $500,000 prize pool as part of a TikTok Trivia event. Then, over the summer, musically inclined TikTokers came together for a live-streamed singing contest called Gimme The Mic. Those efforts have helped raise awareness about TikTok Live, which has become an important revenue source for many streamers.

Some of the rewards handed out during Live Fest will take the form of Diamonds, TikTok Live’s virtual currency. Creators will earn more Diamonds as their streams become more popular. TikTok is also advising Live users to turn on gifting so that viewers can support them as well.

To participate in the Live Fest fun, creators must be at least 18 years old and in good standing with TikTok. For anyone who meets those requirements, streaming is simple: All they need to do is tap the “Go Live” icon.
