Rhett & Link launch their own mythical cereal brand

Rhett & Link fans now have a mythical way to start their mornings.

The YouTube duo have launched MishMash, a classic 90s-style cereal brand they promise comes with “a mouthful of nostalgia.”

Their production company Mythical has released plenty of merch and products in the past (and is currently gearing up to release an official cookbook in March 2024), but this is Rhett & Link’s first direct-to-consumer food product. The perennial creators partnered with product manufacturing company Warren James to bring the concept from ideation to breakfast tables. (MishMash is also one of the first major food products Warren James has worked on since its $6 million fund raise last September to do just that.)

MishMash comes in two flavors: Sweet Mac N’ Mello, which has macaroni-shaped puffed corn “noodles” with marshmallows; and Peanut Butter N’ Honey Sandwich, which is, well, probably exactly what you think.

Both flavors are available only in MishMash’s digital storefront, where a “starter pack” with one box of each flavor will run you $20, and a four-pack of any flavor is $40.

Every box is emblazoned with MishMash’s exceedingly millennial mascot Randler–a mouse/bird/reindeer combo who knows “all of Rhett & Link’s actual secrets.” Each box can also be opened up after it’s empty to play a game printed on the inside.

Rhett & Link announced the cereal this morning with a grainy TV commercial that’ll bring back the days when we actually had to watch commercials:

“We’re so incredibly excited for people to finally experience MishMash cereal,” they said in a statement. “The Mythical team took what we do best–curiosity-driven creativity and deliciously inventive food making–and ‘mishmashed’ them together. We have eaten approximately three tons of cereal during the development phase and the final 100 pounds tasted awesome.”

“Breaking new ground in a category dominated by legacy brands poses a formidable challenge. But we knocked this out of the park,” Emily Buckley, General Manager of Food & Beverage at Warren James, added. “The team at Warren James engaged with numerous potential suppliers and sought expertise from manufacturing specialists to bring Mythical’s innovative cereal concepts to fruition. The outcome is a cereal that meets the dynamic and entertaining standards set by Rhett & Link.”
