Artlist establishes fund, will give one creator $100,000 to “realize their wildest creative vision”

“What would you do with $100,000?”

That’s the question Artlist is asking creators around the world. The technology company, known for its editing tools and its library of licensable assets, has established the 100K Fund, a grant program that will give one lucky creator a six-digit award.

In a video announcing the 100K fund, Artlist prompted creators to submit their “edgiest, craziest, most over-the-top idea.” The Tel Aviv-based firm will choose to back one (and only one) of the proposed projects. “Think of your $100,000 idea,” explains an additional Artlist video. “Perhaps it’s a video idea so over-the-top that you’ve never imagined you can finance it. Or maybe it’s an entire YouTube channel you’ve always dreamed of launching. Whatever it is, we’ve got you.”

Submissions can come from creators or groups, but each individual is limited to one proposal. Entries take the form of 90-second pitch videos, which must be shared on social media and tagged with @artlist.io and #Artlist100KFund in order to be eligible for the grant money. Entrants must then complete a form on the Artlist website to finish the application process.

“This fund provides us with the opportunity to help digital creators develop their talents, pursue their greatest passions, and create without limits,” said Artlist Co-Founder and Co-CEO Ira Belsky in a statement. “As someone who used to be a fulltime video creator myself, this would have been a dream come true for me and it’s part of what brings Artlist’s vision to empower creators to life.”

Submissions will be accepted until October 5. Artlist will then compile a shortlist of finalists, who will submit pitch decks to the company and interview with its team. The 100K Fund recipient will be selected in November.

Creators do not have to be Artlist subscribers in order to apply for the company’s grant. The full terms and conditions of the 100K Fund can be found on the Artlist website.
