MrBeast stumbles into ‘Stumble Guys’ with custom-designed levels and characters

Jimmy Donaldson has included obstacle courses in some of the most memorable videos he’s ever released on his MrBeast channel. Thanks to a recent partnership, Donaldson’s fans can experience what it’s like to participate in those videos, and they don’t even need to travel to North Carolina first. The YouTube megastar has designed custom levels and characters for Stumble Guys, a multiplayer video game available with a strong following on mobile devices.

The developer behind Stumble GuysScopely, tapped Donaldson to design levels, characters, features, emotes, and animations inspired by his super-sized YouTube videos. The first release to come out of the partnership will be a Stumble Guys-sized warehouse inspired by Donaldson’s home base. The level is due out “this summer,” according to a press release, but Scopely is offering Stumble Guys players a sneak peek at Donaldson’s work during the week of July 17

With its multiplayer format, racing mechanics, colorful graphics, and title conventions, Stumble Guys resembles Fall Guys, a similar game that has become a hit among streamers. By teaming up with YouTube’s most-subscribed individual creatorStumble Guys is making its own inroads into the creator world.

A game about obstacle courses is a good fit for Donaldson, who is known for designing elaborate challenges in both physical and digital environments. For one of his latest MrBeast videos, he dug a huge pit so he could showcase the physics used by video game engines like BeamNG.

A press release indicates that Stumble Guys players should expect “crazy challenges and unbelievable stunts with surprising twists” when playing the Donaldson-designed levels. “I chose to collaborate with Stumble Guys because the game is the perfect platform to serve as a canvas for my creativity and bring custom-created MrBeast experiences to both of our communities,” Donaldson said in a statement. “I can’t wait to see players try to survive the new courses, which include all the larger-than-life, unbelievable, and uplifting moments that are part of everything we do at MrBeast.”

Scopely is not the first developer to invite creators into its games. Other companies that have debuted creator-designed avatars have included India’s SuperGaming, which linked up with local star Techno Gamerz, and Call of Duty publisher Activision.
