TikTok star Alix Earle gives back to alma mater with scholarships for business students

While attending the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, Alix Earle was more than just a campus big shot: She ranked among the most popular influencers in the world. Through “get ready with me” clips, vlogs, and other lifestyle videos, Earle became a Gen Z “it girl” and a beloved figure for her 5.4 million followers on TikTok.

Months after her graduation from Miami, Earle is giving back to the school that served as the setting for many of her TikToks. She has established a scholarship that will support the Patti and Allan Herbert Business School, where she majored in Business Administration.

The size of the scholarship fund has not been publicly revealed. With her gift, Earle hopes to support a new generation of business students, especially women.

“If you know me you know how much I love the University of Miami. The fact that I was able to attend this school was truly one of the biggest blessings of my life,” Earle said in a recent TikTok video. “I want to be able to support someone else in living out their dreams.”

@alixearle Thank you guys so much for the support. Im so honored to be able to give back to the U and help another student follow their dreams. #umiami #alixearlescholarship ♬ original sound – alix earle

Earle is not the first creator to establish a collegiate fund in her name. Imane Anys, who streams under the name Pokimane, supported aspiring gamers by providing them with $10,000 scholarships.

Compared to that effort, Earle’s scholarship program may not seem relevant to her creative career. However, she believes that her studies at Miami helped her become the TikTok star she is today. “During my junior year, there was a marketing class at UM that significantly helped me in my career path,” she said in a statement. “We learned about the analytics and data behind posts. It allowed me to look at my work and see what was working or not working and why.”

More information about the Alix Earle Scholarship is available here. The program is open to Miami juniors and seniors who plan to pursue degrees in business. Applicants must submit their resumes and (of course) a brief video that explains why they deserve to follow in Earle’s footsteps.

Earle’s enrollment at Miami has reportedly led to a 50% increase in the school’s applications. Even after her graduation, she’s still bringing benefits to her alma mater.
