Jake Paul joins his brother by becoming a playable video game character

Since breaking out as one of the internet’s top influencer, Jake Paul has established himself as an entrepreneur, boxer, and investor. Now, he’s adding another title to his resume: Video game character. The younger Paul brother is a playable character in Rush Royale, a mobile game published by Dutch company My.Games.

Rush Royale is a tower defense game that established itself as the #1 game in its genre, according to data.ai. In April alone, it reached 1.1 million daily active users. Those players can unlock the Jake Paul avatar by competing in “The Champion Rumble,” which will be available until July 29.

Paul provided voice lines for his Rush Royale character, which has several special moves that reflect Paul’s career as an influencer. Players can build “hype,” generate “energy PR,” and take a “commemorative photo” while playing as the 26-year-old creator.

In a video shared on the Rush Royale Twitter account, Paul endorses the mobile game while training in his boxing gym. He encourages his fans to download the My.Games hit so that they too can “defend the damn tower.”

My.Games is not the first company to reinvent a popular creator as a video game avatar. Notably, Jake’s brother Logan Paul showed up in the latest WWE 2K title after officially commencing his career as a pro wrestler. Another AAA title, Call of Duty: Warzone, forged its own connections with the creator economy by bringing streamers Nickmercs and TimTheTatman into the game.

For Paul, an appearance in Rush Royale is a nice feather in the proverbial cap, though it’s just one of many brand partnerships for the Ohio-born multi-hyphenate. His burgeoning media empire has become so successful that he recently purchased a $16 million house in Puerto Rico. Admission to the house is not a reward for Rush Royale users, but getting to play as Paul is a nice consolation prize.
