An animation boom on YouTube Shorts is propelling new contenders to the top of our chart. One specific animation hub has experienced so much shocking success that the interrobang in its title is justified.
Chart Toppers
The new #1 channel in the Global Top 50 has us shouting DaFuq!?Boom! at the top of our lungs. That unusual name has been applied to a channel with a fittingly strange brand of animated content. All of its top short-form videos feature long-necked heads popping out of toilet bowls. That may not sound like a great formula, but DaFuq!?Boom! got 791.7 million weekly views over our latest seven-day measurement period. I guess this is the apex for potty humor on YouTube.
KIMPRO‘s streak of three consecutive #1 finishes in the Global Top 50 has ended, but the Korean channel only dropped to second place this week. The short-form hub delivered its usual array of pop culture-driven content to scoop up 630.4 million weekly views during the second week of May. KIMPRO has a great shot to reach 15 million lifetime YouTube views by the end of the month.
The next channel up in the Global Top 50 is South Asian favorite T-Series. The Indian record label holds many YouTube records, including the most lifetime views, most subscribers, and most weeks at #1 in our Global Top 50. Despite all those accolades, T-Series couldn’t quite keep up with its main short-form rivals this week. It earned 591.4 million weekly views, but even that massive amount was only good for third place in a competitive field.
CoComelon – Nursery Rhymes just had its worst finish in the Global Top 50 this year. The California-based archive of jingles and kids’ songs finished in fourth place despite picking up 490.4 million weekly views. In our charts, it was a tough week for CoComelon, which also fell out of the #1 spot in the U.S. Top 50 for the first time in 2023. The Moonbug-owned hub is likely to rebound, though it could probably help its chart position by uploading more Shorts.
PANDA BOI rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. The Italian creator, who likes to ask people on the street about their personal preferences, snagged 452.7 million views during the week that was.

There’s a new dog in town, and this one is out to prove he’s more than just a pretty face. Pomeranian_Fox is a YouTube Shorts channel that chronicles the prankish misadventures of a shaggy white pup with a perpetual grin on its face.
The Fox-Faced Pomeranian is an actual breed, but this channel likes to use its imagination. It wonders what would happen if a dog looked like a fox and acted like one too. The star of Pomeranian_Fox is a cunning trickster who always seems to get the better of their owners. He plays pranks on them until they squirt themselves in the face. As if dog ownership wasn’t demanding already!
Luckily, the star of Pomeranian_Fox makes up for his troublesome attitude by harnessing his latent powers. With just a few reps, the Pom can turn into a SuperPom and save the day.
On YouTube Shorts, viewers are falling in love with Pomeranian_Fox. One week after finishing 43rd in the Global Top 50, our fluffy friend increased their viewership by 16% week-over-week to reach 33rd place. In total, the Pomeranian_Fox YouTube channel added 272.2 million weekly views during the second week of May.
That rate of viewership reinforces a classic YouTube truism: Trends are always better when animals do them. Somebody get this dog on a skateboard ASAP.
