YouTube‘s giving podcasts a big chunk of territory on creators’ channels.
As first spotted by 9to5Google, YouTube has added a “Podcasts” tab to some some channel pages, giving it equal billing with longtime mainstay tabs like “Home” (the channel’s default landing page), “Live” (which shows a channel creator’s livestreams) “Playlists” (which shows any playlists the creator has made to organize their uploads), and “Channels” (which shows the creator’s other channels).
Per 9to5Google, the new Podcasts tab shows all uploads that have been marked as podcasts by the creator, including podcast-specific playlists.

Google confirmed to the outlet that this addition is currently rolling out globally.
9to5Google also reports that YouTube is in the middle of testing a tool that ports video uploads marked as podcasts to YouTube Music. That functionality popped up last week, and is being tested with limited availability.
These changes and tools are just the latest in a long line of developments that show YouTube is seriously committed to getting into the podcast game.
