Logan Paul, KSI take Prime out to the ballgame with Los Angeles Dodgers partnership

Logan Paul and KSI are stepping up to the plate. The two influencers, who put aside their differences to form the beverage brand Prime Hydration, have secured a partnership with the second-most valuable franchise in Major League Baseball. Prime is now the official sports drink of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Thanks to the deal, Prime will now be available at concession stands throughout Dodger Stadium. To christen the partnership, Paul and KSI (real name J.J. Olatunji) took a trip to Chavez Ravine to throw out the ceremonial first pitches at a Dodgers game. They also stepped into the batter’s box to take some swings. The video footage from that experience suggests that influencer baseball may not catch on in the same way influencer boxing did.

A post shared across Prime’s social media channels touts the new deal as an extension of the brand’s presence in the sports world. Since launching their line of electrolyte-infused beverages, Paul and KSI have teamed up with numerous leagues and professional clubs. Prime has earned placements in the UFC, NASCAR, and the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, in England, Prime is the official sports drink of Premier League leaders Arsenal F.C.

A partnership with big-name influencers like Logan Paul and KSI has serious marketing potential, but the Dodgers’ Prime partnership has already generated a number of complaints. The two creators got hit with boos when they took the field at Dodger Stadium, and some fans urged the L.A. club to cancel its deal after KSI uttered a racial slur during a recent video.

Prime’s MLB debut may be off to a bumpy start, but the two faces of the beverage brand can still win over Dodgers fans. The team’s star player, Mookie Betts, recently launched his own YouTube channel. A collab between Mookie, Paul, and KSI could have benefits for all involved parties.
