Nick Symmonds is on the hunt for an athlete who can do the impossible.
Symmonds, a two-time track and field Olympian whose fitness-focused YouTube channel recently crossed one million subscribers, spent the past three months and $100,000 building what he calls the “Impossible Obstacle Course.”
The course is designed to test people in seven distinct, grueling ways—and, if someone out there can beat it, Symmonds will pay them $25,000.
He plans to open the course to the public and keep it open until a contestant completes it, so technically anyone who wants to give it a shot will be able to. There is a caveat, though: The exact location of the course, as well as which dates and times it’ll be open, are only available to people who download Symmonds’ dedicated app, which is free for seven days, then costs $14.99/month thereafter.
Contestants’ attempts at finishing the course will be recorded for a weekly YouTube series. Symmonds is releasing the first episode on his channel March 3.

“The obstacle course video series is the culmination of what I’ve spent years building—an event where everyday athletes, my peers on YouTube, and professionals in the world of fitness and sports can come together to challenge themselves and see what they’re capable of accomplishing,” he tells Tubefilter.
He adds, “As a pro runner, I learned that when there is cash and glory on the line, it can motivate us to do incredible things. I want to give that same experience to my audience. We say our videos are all about having fun with fitness, and what’s more fun than an epic obstacle course?”
