Cameo users who book celebrity shoutouts for their friends and family can now add another personalized touch to those messages. Just ahead of its sixth birthday, the platform has introduced handwritten cards, which can be delivered alongside video greetings.
That idea may sound like classic Hallmark, but Cameo’s cards come with a high-tech touch. The notes are equipped with QR codes, which connect card recipients to their celeb salutations.
A Cameo blog post notes that the personalized cards are available for an “additional fee” on top of the app’s standard prices. Individual stars are able to set the rates for the Cameos they deliver.

“We know the majority of Cameo videos are booked as gifts — whether for birthdays, holidays, get-well, or just because,” reads the post. “To uplevel these Cameo surprises for your loved ones, we’ll now help you deliver them with physical cards to make it even more special.”
In an email, a Cameo rep told Tubefitler that many users have added handwritten notes to their Valentine’s Day orders. There are multiple card options available, including designs tailored to holidays and birthdays. A Cameo Kids card design can be chosen for young recipients.
The handwritten cards are distinct from the Gift Cards Cameo introduced in 2021. That feature gives recipients the flexibility to choose the source of their own shoutout.
Cameo, like many other companies, has been affected by the tech industry slowdown of the post-COVID era. The shoutout vendor endured a round of cuts last May, but it has since rebounded by launching several new initiatives, including its children’s section and its physical cards.
With all of these gift options available through its platform, Cameo continues to deliver millions of shoutouts from athletes, actors, and other high-profile individuals. As of last December, the platform has executed 2.5 million shoutout requests in all.
