Atrioc goes offline after getting caught with deepfakes of female content creators

After getting caught paying for deepfaked NSFW images of female streamers, Atrioc is going offline and taking a break from OFFBRAND, the creator event company he co-founded in September 2022 with Ludwig, Stanz, and Nick Allen.

For those not up to date on what’s happened, Atrioc—a Twitch streamer with more than 300,000 followers—showed his screen during a recent broadcast and inadvertently revealed he had a tab open to a website that hosts deepfaked, nonconsensual NSFW images and videos.

The website page he was looking at contained fake nudes of popular streamers Maya Higa and Pokimane. That same deepfake maker also posted fabricated NSFW content of QTCinderella and Sweet Anita.

In an apology stream, Atrioc admitted to paying for access to the person’s deepfake library. He claimed he was on a “regular website, and there was an ad on every video” for the deepfake site. “I click it and then I’m in this rabbit hole,” he said. “I got morbidly curious and I clicked something. It’s gross and I’m sorry. It’s so embarrassing.”

He posted an updated note on TwitLonger early this morning, apologizing specifically to Maya Higa and Pokimane, and announcing his break from streaming and his decision to “[step] away” from OFFBRAND.

“My actions have taken me from someone I was proud of, trying to make a positive impact in my community, to a ‘deepfake porn guy,'” he wrote. “This will be the last time you hear from me for a while. I’d rather you see my actions. I will try my absolute hardest to combat the damage I caused.”

The deepfake maker he paid wiped their NSFW content from their page on the host site Jan. 31, replacing it with a written apology. (We’re not linking to the site or the deepfaker’s note, for obvious reasons.) Atrioc indicates that was thanks to legal pressure from QTCinderella and Ryan Morrison, aka Video Game Attorney, who frequently tackles litigious issues in the creator space.

“In the short term, through the efforts of QT and Ryan Morrison’s law firm the website in question has already been taken down,” Atrioc said. “I have spoken with Morrison and am working to cover the financial cost of the takedown as well as all legal fees for all women affected to use his services for removing their unwanted content from the web. Additionally, I am engaging more law firms to continue to remove this content from other areas of the internet such as Reddit.”

It’s not clear if Atrioc is fully leaving OFFBRAND or just taking a break from operations. His LinkedIn page still lists him as a co-founder and partner. Ludwig, who’s not only Atrioc’s OFFBRAND co-founder but also QTCinderella’s boyfriend, posted an update on the situation here.
