The leading channels in this week’s U.S. Top 50 are seeing green. Two of the top five finishers in our all-American chart experienced week-over-week viewership increases of at least 17%.

The #1 channel didn’t have the biggest traffic jump, but it is still reeling in new fans and climbing the all-time YouTube leaderboard.
Chart Toppers
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes will likely finish January where it started the year: At the top of our U.S. Top 50. With one week to go in the month, Cocomelon is still far ahead of its competition. It earned 507.5 million weekly views in our most recent count, and only six other U.S.-based channels managed even half of that total. Even if Cocomelon somehow loses its perfect January, it will still surpass 150 billion lifetime views sometime in February.
Kideo Games picked up its controller and moved toward the top of the U.S. Top 50 at a speedrunner’s pace. A week after finishing sixth in our American ranking, Kideo Games increased its viewership by 17% week-over-week to grab the #2 spot among all U.S.-based channels. The YouTube Shorts hub had 307 million weekly views in all, which beat out everyone except the “final boss” that is Cocomelon.
Mr DegrEE kept the YouTube Shorts train rolling into third place. The vertical video hub was able to move up six spots after getting 25% more viewership than what it earned a week ago. And it’s not just Mr DegrEE’s view count that’s thriving. He now reaches 8.6 million subscribers, who hang onto each one of his micro-video uploads.
Alfredo Larin also earned a nice finish this week. Larin, another YouTube Shorts creator, has pushed himself to fourth place in the U.S. Top 50. After earning 298.8 million weekly views, Larin now has more than six billion lifetime views on his primary YouTube channel. That’s not bad for someone who also has a significant presence on TikTok.
D Billions rounds out this week’s U.S. Top 50. Though the kid-friendly channel fell one spot after ranking fourth a week ago, it still recorded 271.9 million weekly views.
Top Gainers
YouTube’s favorite dental student is on a wild ride toward the top of our U.S. Top 50. Anthony Baroud, the 25-year-old who runs the Dental Digest YouTube channel, got the 38th-most weekly views among all U.S.-based YouTube channels during our most-recent seven-day measurement period.
Baroud, who has been uploading YouTube videos for about two-and-a-half years, covers all things teeth. He puts brushes to the test, examines the dental hygiene of the past, and reviews oral care products on Amazon.
Those are all long-form videos with millions of views, but Baroud’s YouTube channel is surging up the U.S. Top 50 thanks to its shorts. Baroud’s vertical videos reach ten million followers on TikTok, and as they catch on with YouTube viewers, they’re turning their creator into a multiformat star. The superlative nature of Baroud’s content — he often looks at the smallest, oldest, or weirdest brushes he can find — makes it easy to convert to Shorts. Maybe that’s why his take on the world’s largest toothbrush has pulled in nearly 300 million views.
Videos like that delivered 135.8 million views to the Dental Digest YouTube channel during the third week of January. With a 21% week-over-week bump, Baroud reached his current perch in 38th place. And yes, for all you doubters out there, the guy really is a dentist.
