A week ago, 40 of the 50 channels in the U.S. Top 50 were YouTube Shorts channels. This time around, that number is down to 36, but a few specific Shorts channels are reaching unprecedented heights.

Two of the top five spots in our U.S. chart belong to Shorts channels, and even some of the long-form hubs are experimenting with short-form content.
Chart Toppers
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes posts both long and short videos on its primary YouTube channel. No matter what it uploads, it draws the attention of millions of babies, toddlers, and kids. This week, Cocomelon’s array of tuneful content picked up 645.2 million weekly views to solidify its position at the top of our U.S. Top 50. The California-based animation team has online video down to a science, and the rest of the channels in the United States can’t quite keep up with Cocomelon’s pace.
We have to give some respect to the #2 channel in this week’s U.S. Top 50. At the start of the year, we highlighted Respect.4, a YouTube Shorts channel that had recently arrived in the ranking. Two weeks later, the aggregator of viral clips is continuing its astonishing run. It’s made it all the way up to second place in our Global Top 50, and it also has more than two million subscribers. Its weekly view total — 361.1 million — is far short of Cocomelon but impressive in its own right.
Another YouTube Shorts channel finished third in this week’s U.S. Top 50. Alfredo Larin has been a presence in our star-spangled ranking for about a year, but this is the highest position he has ever achieved in the chart. His short-form content picked up 294.6 million weekly views, which allowed him to move up six spots after placing ninth a week ago.
D Billions, in fourth place, breaks the short-form streak near the front of the U.S. Top 50. The colorful, energetic channel provides long-form entertainment in the form of songs. Though its early-education audience delivered 3% fewer views compared to its total from a week ago, D Billions still accrued 282.8 million weekly views. It could surpass 25 million subscribers as soon as next week.
MrBeast rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. Jimmy Donaldson has combined Shorts and long-form videos to make himself a factor in our American ranking. He added 270.4 million weekly views during the second full week of January.

Vlad Buryanov‘s Shorts are all over YouTube. The creator known as Vlad SlickBartender has made a lot of progress on his journey to become the most-subscribed cocktail artist on YouTube, and his short-form clips are a big reason why.
The main Vlad SlickBartender channel is still the place to go for Buryanov’s long-form mixology, and he uploads some Shorts there, too. But the creator’s highest-ranking channel in the U.S. Top 50 is a dedicated Shorts hub called Vladflix Shorts. Visitors to that channel can enjoy videos that show off Buryanov’s ice-sculpting abilities rather than his skill as a flair bartender.
Thanks to its sharp, culturally-relevant videos, Vladflix Shorts is bringing more growth to Buryanov’s digital network. The micro-video destination picked up 146.4 million weekly views to reach 26th place in our U.S.-only chart. The channel now reaches more than one million subscribers. With about 867.2 million lifetime views, Vladflix Shorts already has more than half the lifetime viewership of Buryanov’s primary channels.
It seems as if this cocktail slinger can do no wrong, but even Buryanov makes mistakes from time to time. Of course, whenever he does, he cuts them into a compilation and uploads them to YouTube. That’s just the kind of creator he is.
Channel Distribution
This week, there are 36 YouTube Shorts channels in the U.S. Top 50.
