During our most recent seven-day measurement period, two YouTube channels put themselves in a class of their own at the front of the Global Top 50. Those two channels hovered around 600 million weekly views while the rest of the pack dropped below 500 million.

The names of those two channels won’t surprise long-time readers of this column, but there are still plenty of stats to uncover, so let’s get into it.
Chart Toppers
It was another strong week for T-Series.
In 2022, the Indian record label spent more weeks at #1 than any other entrant in our Global Top 50. During the first full week of 2023, T-Series was right where it belongs. With its library of movie and music clips, the South Asian media company picked up 601.9 million weekly views. It looks like the next 12 months will be dominated by this Indian juggernaut, which has been now been this chart’s pacer for several years on end.
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes was the only other channel with multiple chart-topping weeks in 2022. Though the regular leader in our U.S. Top 50 is behind T-Series in the worldwide ranking, the gap between the two channels is fairly small. Cocomelon picked up 582.5 million views during the week that was, so with another strong seven days, it could become the first contender to unseat T-Series in this year’s Global Top 50 charts.
SET India is running in its usual #3 spot in the Global Top 50. The South Asian entertainment destination has been a long-time regular around these parts, and as it nears 150 million subscribers (which Cocomelon reached two weeks ago), it continues to haul in massive viewership. The Sony-owned hub used its assortment of TV clips to collect 477.5 million weekly views.
Another Indian channel took fourth place in this week’s Global Top 50. Star Plus offers many entertainment options for its Hindi-speaking audience, and those viewers have repaid the channel with millions of views. It earned its second-straight fourth-place finish thanks to the 423 million views it picked up over seven days. Though it has been active on YouTube since 2006, Star Plus is still going strong.
The #5 channel in this week’s Global Top 50 is called S Plus, but don’t get it confused with the channel directly above it. This Pakistan-based hub used a combo of short-form and long-form videos to accrue 400 million weekly views.
Top Gainers
Camping on your own can be a solitary experience, but not when you have one million subscribers. Yumecamping has established a strong short-form presence on multiple platforms by sharing snippets of a life spent outdoors.
You may have seen Yumecamping videos on TikTok, where the creator behind the account posts “a life of camping alone” for all to see. The channel’s presence on YouTube, however, has become much bigger. On that platform, Yumecamping has already picked up more than 500 million lifetime views, even though it only posted its first short last October.
Much of that viewership came during the first seven days of 2023. Yumecamping added 276.5 million weekly views to move up to the #17 spot in the Global Top 50. That was good for a 74% week-over-week uptick, and the channel also secured its one-millionth subscriber.
So what sort of camping videos are drawing in those viewers? Even though the channel’s star is open about her dislike for rain, her fans love to see how she copes with it when it comes down on her van. One rainproofing clip has received more than 104 million views.
There’s a clear goal for all that viewership. From the Yumecamping channel, it’s easy to find the organization’s website, where all types of tents, cookware, and accessories are available for outdoorsy travelers. If videos like these inspire you, then Yumecamping can sell you all the equipment you need for your own solitary adventure.
