FailArmy is known for user-generated content. Can it strike a chord with puppets?

FailArmy‘s new show is something a little bit different — and there will be puppets.

The enduring media brand, which wields its library of user-generated content to deliver the best “fails” to millions of consumers, is set to premiere its first scripted series. Womp & Co, from the mind of Dee Robertson, will blend workplace hijinks with puppets to create an original comedy concept.

Robertson created the story for The Happytime Murders, the 2018 film that married R-rated comedy to the colorful puppets of The Jim Henson Company. Compared to that project, Womp & Co will be less explicit, according to an email from a FailArmy rep. However, viewers can still expect “much more adult content” than what might be expected from long-time Jim Henson fans.

If you want an idea of what Womp & Co will look like, you can check out previous versions of the concept on the FailArmy U YouTube channel. Last year, puppets from the Womp & Co universe took to that hub in order to “react to crazy fails.”

FailArmy’s collection of faux pas has long been popular on YouTube, where its main channel has 2.4 billion lifetime views and reaches 16.3 million subscribers. Emboldened by that success, FailArmy has long sought an audience on TV. Way back in 2016, the brand arrived on FOX with a show called World’s Funniest Fails. Later that year, FailArmy announced a half-hour compilation series for MTV2.

FailArmy’s offline ambitions have remaining strong, even after its parent company Jukin Media was acquired by Trusted Media Brands in 2021. With its first scripted series, the king of fails will see how far it can take its library.

Womp & Co will be available on FailArmy’s 24/7 channel, which can be found on over-the-top platforms like Roku, Fubo, and Pluto TV. The series will premiere “later this month.”
