Jacksepticeye’s latest ‘Thankmas’ charity stream crossed the $10 million mark

In his tenth year on YouTube, Jacksepticeye raised a cool $10 million during his annual charity stream. The Irish gamer, whose real name is Sean McLoughlin, welcomed entertainers like Jack BlackBella PoarchMark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach, and Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter as part of his 2022 Thankmas celebration.

McLoughlin has led five Thankmas events over the course of his career. In 2020, the star-studded stream resulted in a $4.6 million fundraising total, which supported Red Nose Day. A year later, McLoughlin ran it back with a Thankmas celebration that ultimately pulled in $7.6 million to benefit New Story.

The 2022 version of Thankmas featured a different charity at its center and a roster of high-profile guest stars. McLoughlin pulled out all the stops to deliver an eight-digit sum to the World Central Kitchen. Another famous Jack — Mr. Black — showed up to help the Thankmas host build a giant Jenga tower. Poarch and Valkyrae stopped by for a game of “reindeer ring toss.” At the end of the night, a last-minute donation of $3.7 million pushed Thankmas to its $10 million goal, and McLoughlin reacted with an appropriate celebration.

McLoughlin is not the only streamer to display a big heart during the holiday season. In fact, the gaming world has proven itself to be one of the internet’s most charitable communities. Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo has raised an eight-digit total of his own with his yearly Yuletide streams. Meanwhile, the list of top Thankmas donors includes some of biggest names on YouTube, such as CoryxKenshin, Pokimane, Game Grumps, CrankGameplays, and Markiplier. They all donated at least $6,000 to support McLoughlin’s cause.

The triumphant Thankmas stream wraps up one of McLoughlin’s most productive years. After a decade on top of YouTube, the Irish creator is still going strong. In 2022, he released a documentary about his roots and dropped a collection of St. Paddy’s gear for his fans. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in 2023.
