Creative Juice offers flexibility with two new funding options for creators

Creative Juice is offering some R&R for its creator partners. In this case, those letters stand for Refresh and Reserve, which are the names of two new products delivered by the fintech startup.

Refresh and Reserve will provide new avenues for creators who are looking to take advantage of the Juice Funds. Creative Juice’s in-house account received a $50 million boost when the company pulled in a $15 million Series A round in April 2022.

On the surface, both of the new funding options resemble the catalog licensing models employed by companies like Spotter and Jellysmack. Of the two products, Juice Funds Refresh delivers more typical catalog licensing deals. Creators can claim funding for three, six, or nine months in exchange for the ad revenue from their preexisting YouTube videos. Ad revenue on future videos stays in creators’ pockets.

Juice Funds Reserve is a different type of deal, in which creators get one, two, or three years of financial backing and give a cut of content revenue to Creative Juice. To sweeten the pot, Juice will also pair its Reserve partners with its team members, thus ensuring a high level of support.

With this multitude of options, the name of the game is flexibility. Creative Juice wants to fuel the creator economy without locking its partners into burdensome, long-term deals. “We understand that creators are all at different stages in their journey – some creators may have just started their creator business full-time while others are overseeing a team and launching a podcast or merch line,” said Dustin Blank, Creative Juice’s Head of Creator Partnerships & Investments. “Each creator business has different needs and we aim to fulfill those needs by offering flexible, personalized funding unlike anything in the market today.”

Refresh and Reserve can each serve some of the specific use cases Blank mentions. Creative Juice describes Refresh as a good option for creators with basic needs like equipment and software. The more thorough funding from Reserve can assist creators who need to hire a team or start a merch line.

Creative Juice first announced Refresh and Reserve in October. The products already have some notable users, including TheSimonShi, Ritesh, The Jacksons of Atlanta, and Think Flight.

The creator channels that have utilized Juice Funds Reserve vary in size. Some Reserve partners have around 10,000 subscribers, while others count more than four million.
