Denny’s is putting 24 TikTok creators’ dream dishes on its menu

Denny’s is turning to TikTokers for its latest limited-time menu.

The diner chain’s “Social Stars” menu will feature 12 dishes created in collaboration with 24 TikTok creators, and will be available Feb. 24 through June 21.

In a press release, Denny’s said Social Stars is part of its new campaign “Open for Anything.” The campaign kicked off yesterday with a short film on Denny’s YouTube channel, and is meant to convey that “Denny’s is always open to guests from all different backgrounds to be who they want, with the people they want, over the food they want, whenever they want.”

Denny’s is releasing the Social Stars dishes in waves. The first wave offers:

  • the “Get That Cookie Dough Pancakes” from @es_jenny_solares and @EnkyBoys, topped with cream cheese icing and served with eggs, hash browns, and bacon or sausage
  • the “Jala-Bac Burger” from @PaqJonathan69 and @ElTheEgg, a beef burger with white cheddar, bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and pickles, topped with a blistered jalapeno and served with wavy fries
  • and the “Clearly Very Fruity Pancakes” from @CallMeBelly and @Mattheperson—blueberry pancakes topped with blueberry sauce, strawberries, and bananas, served with eggs, hash browns, and bacon or sausage

In a statement, Denny’s chief brand officer John Dillon said the company “didn’t want to just work with this diverse group of social stars to ‘hack the menu.’ Instead, we wanted to take it to a new level and tap into their creative personalities to create distinctly new menu items that are bursting with bold flavors.”

Menu hacking is a trend where creators DIY their own secret menu items by smashing together restaurants’ already-available items to make new wonders and/or monstrosities. There’s also just general food hacking, which has resulted in homemade dishes like the famous baked feta pasta and corn ribs.

Both are huge trends on TikTok, generating billions of views and enough attention that the platform is looking into creating a MrBeast Burger-esque delivery service that’ll chauffeur viral dishes to people’s front doors.
