Want “Exclusive Access” To Cameo Stars And Events? Pony Up 0.2 ETH.

Here’s some probably unshocking news: Cameo, like seemingly every other platform and content creator-related entity on earth, is getting into NFTs.

The company announced today that beginning Feb. 17, its users will be able to buy an NFT called a Cameo Pass that will provide “exclusive access to celebrity Q&As, meet and greets, launch parties at our Cameo House in Beverly Hills, and more.”

Cameo Passes will go up for sale on NFT trading marketplace OpenSea, with an opening price of 0.2 Ethereum each. (That’s roughly $516 at press time.) They’ll feature artwork from artists Burnt Toast, Vinnie Hager, and Luke McGarry.

“With Web3 rising as one of the most significant and promising trends in celebrity, athlete, and creator interactions and monetization, Cameo is exploring how it can be used to further our mission for fans and talent,” Cameo said in an email, per TechCrunch.

It added that proceeds from the Cameo Pass launch “will be invested back into the growth and engagement of the community and exploration of further Web3 projects focused on fan/talent interactions.”

Cameo did not disclose which celebrities Cameo Pass holders will have “exclusive access” to. Among the most recognized names on its site are comedian Colin Mochrie, actor Gilbert Gottfried, Shark Tank shark Kevin O’Leary, The Office star Brian Baumgartner, Buffy’s James Marsters, and Tiger King’s Carole Baskin.
