Each week, it seems as if our Global Top 50 becomes a more exclusive club. Channels needed at least 168.4 million weekly views to crack our latest ranking of YouTube’s most-watched content destinations.

As for the #1 spot? The channel that reclaimed it this week is on its own level when it comes to YouTube viewership.
T-Series spent the previous two weeks in the #2 spot. Now, the Indian record label has bagged its first #1 finish of 2022.
The music and film channel received 837.6 million weekly views, which pushed it to the top of our Global Top 50. Don’t be surprised if T-Series becomes the first YouTube channel with 200 billion lifetime views sometime this year.
Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes had a nice two-week run as the most-watched YouTube channel in the world, but it has now returned to its more usual position at #2. The American trove of jingles, nursery rhymes, and lullabies received 731.5 million weekly views. Its owner, Moonbug (itself now owned by Candle Media) can still say that Cocomelon is still the most-watched U.S.-based channel.
In this week’s Global Top 50, the third-place ribbon goes to SET India. Like its sister channel Sony SAB (#6) this week, SET India delivers TV content to the significant South Asian audience on YouTube. Its latest seven-day total is 687.8 million weekly views.
The other U.S.-based channel in this week’s global top five is Kids Diana Show. With its parade of children’s toys and childhood joys, the Florida-based family behind the Diana videos moved up eight spots in our Global Top 50, receiving 524.4 million weekly views.
Koray Zeynep is the highest-ranking Turkish channel this week and the caboose in our global top five. Through family-oriented videos, Zeynep was able to accumulate a total of 464.7 million weekly views.
This week had more YouTube Shorts channels in our Global Top 50 than ever before. But I’m not going to talk about them — yet — because I want to talk about Bruno.
Bruno is a character from the Disney movie Encanto, and the subject of the infectious, Lin Manuel Miranda-written ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno.’ The song, by common consensus, is one of the best moments from the film, and it has the YouTube viewership to prove it.
The official ‘Bruno’ video-o-o-o has received more than 93 million views on the DisneyMusicVEVO channel, and clips featuring the jam have collectively crossed the 100 million view mark (and are still going strong). In total, the DisneyMusicVEVO channel picked up 181.7 million weekly views in our latest count. That was 13% more traffic than what the Mouse House’s music hub pulled in a week ago, and it moved up from 80th place to 38th in the Global Top 50 as a result.
Despite all those views, ‘Bruno’ won’t win the Oscar for Best Original Song, since Disney submitted ‘Dos Oruguitas’ as Encanto‘s representative in that category. Hopefully that decision doesn’t end up costing Miranda his chance at a fabled EGOT.
Here’s a breakdown of the Top 50 Most Viewed channels this week in terms of their countries of origin:
- United States: 20 channels in the Top 50.
- India: 9 channels in the Top 50.
- Russia: 5 channels in the Top 50.
- Mexico and Turkey: 2 channels in the Top 50.
- Bangladesh, Brazil, France, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Moldova, Pakistan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Vietnam: 1 channel each in the Top 50.
This week, 27 channels in the Top 50 are primarily active on YouTube Shorts.
