A channel that offers up DIY ideas and other related pieces of content has figured out a new hack: Make videos that appeal to the YouTube Shorts audience, and you might just find yourself at the top of our ranking of the 50 most-viewed U.S.-based channels of the week.

Chart Toppers
The #1 channel in this week’s U.S. Top 50 is SMOL. Based on that name, you might expect the short-form hub to offer adorable animal content, but the typical SMOL video falls into YouTube’s sprawling lifestyle/DIY/lifehack bucket. How popular is that category? For SMOL, it is popular enough to produce 435.1 million weekly views, which was 65% more hits than the channel’s previous seven-day total. Bolstered by that boost, SMOL charged from fifth place in our U.S. Top 50 all the way up to first.
This week’s U.S. #2, LankyBox, also provides TikTok-style thrills to the YouTube audience. With their combination of short-form and long-form content, hosts Justin and Adam have found a formula that typically lands them near the top of our U.S. Top 50. During our most recent measurement period, LankyBox accrued 381 million weekly views.
The next three channels in our U.S. chart all specialize in kid-friendly content, though they each approach YouTube’s youngest audience in their own ways. Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes, which has collected more lifetime views than any other U.S.-based YouTube channel, continues to roll ’em up thanks to its polished selection of animated jingles. In our latest U.S. ranking, Cocomelon occupies the #3 spot; its 372.2 million weekly views were not quite enough to push it up to the runner-up position.
The only family vlog in this week’s U.S. top five is Kids Diana Show. The U.S.-based channel, which has Ukrainian roots and follows a pair of siblings named Diana and Roma, maintained the same fourth-place position it held in last week’s U.S. chart. Kids Diana Show’s seven-day total topped out at 250.1 million weekly views.
D Billions rounds out this week’s U.S. top five. The music-oriented channel, which delivers kid-friendly, educational videos set to a percussive beat, counted 219.1 million weekly views.
Top Gainers
Back in June, we highlighted The Beverly Halls as a family full of creators on the rise. Three months later, the Ohio natives are continuing to reach new heights.
In our latest U.S. Top 50, The Beverly Halls ranks 33rd, which is 12 spots higher than where their clan landed seven days prior. That rise in chart placement makes sense when you consider the Hall family’s increasing viewership. During our latest seven-day measurement period, The Beverly Halls picked up 96.1 million weekly views, which is a 21% higher figure than what the nuclear unit registered in our previous tally.
The Halls, like many other families with sizable operations on YouTube and TikTok, use a cheerful approach and a positive outlook. In their videos, we can witness the charming relationship between husband Marco and wife Brooke, and they share plenty of love with children Caedon, Mar’Cannon, and Braylon.
But life with the Halls isn’t always so sweet. Some of their most popular clips involve one family member pranking another. In this way, The Beverly Halls is similar to Marta and Rustam, another U.S.-based channel that has succeeded on YouTube Shorts with prankish content.
The Beverly Halls may be making their way toward the U.S. top five, but that’s far from their only achievement on YouTube. Next week, the family is likely to surpass two billion lifetime views on its primary YouTube hub.
