“We’re excited to reopen applications for the Black Gaming Creator Program’s second year, and are eager to see the next wave of great gaming Creators at Facebook Gaming,” Luis Renato Olivalves, Facebook’s global director of gaming creator partnerships, said in a statement. “With many new partners in the first year, this program is proof of the growing excitement for entertaining, diverse and creative personalities and new communities within game streaming.”

In his own statement, The Fierce Diva (who primarily streams Fortnite

and Call of Duty) said that being accepted to the program and streaming on Facebook Gaming has “given me an opportunity to engage with people, and give back to a community in the gaming space.”

“For the majority of my life I struggled to find what I wanted to do,” he explained. “However, the central concept to my professional endeavors was assisting or advocating for communities in need. Through streaming I found that I could do this at a broader scale and build a community for people to become better versions of themselves.”

The Black Gaming Creator Program will pay out a total of $10 million—$5 million last year, and $5 million this year. It is part of Facebook’s $200 million initiative to support Black-owned businesses and organizations.

Applications for the program are being accepted here through Oct. 29, 2021.
